It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Caption Competition
All right, time's up!
There were some great entries this time around. I was hoping there might still be a few more, but I guess we were all having too much fun playing Hangman — I almost forgot about this competition myself!
Anyway, there were some worthy captions indeed, but for sheer cracking-me-up power — with the hilarious juxtaposition of Lucy-Ann's innocence with something you (mercifully) wouldn't find in a Blyton book — the winner is...
Well done and thank you, Anita — over to you.

Blimey! Anita must hold the record in winning entries! You should enter The Eurovision Song Contest, old thing! Well done, anyway.

A great caption. Congratulations, Anita.

Re: Caption Competition
I had the pleasure of Anita and Tony's company at home the other day and personally ribbed her about her position at the top of the charts. I'm not sure if it is down to brown-nosing, or just that she has a brilliant, cryptical mind!
I have her imprisoned in one of our tower rooms, so it might be a few days before I release her and she replies to this latest award. Before you mice think of 'playing whilst the cat is away', I didn't imprison Tony, so he will be watching you....

Ah, I'd been wondering why Anita hadn't been around to claim her prize — well, her kudos, anyway. Don't keep her locked up for too long, will you, Nigel?

Yes - I'd used my detective powers to deduce that Tony and Anita were both absent from the forums...I hadn't quite worked out that Anita had been locked up though!!
As I'm currently reading 'The Queer Adventure' it reminded me of Sly-One the Gnome, kidnapping Princess Fenella...

Anita did say some days ago that she would be missing for a few days in May. I think she went willingly to her destination though! Hope you're enjoying the break Anita.

It was a very gentle ribbing and the "prison" was actually a sunny green garden where we laughed and chatted round a table laden with tea and lemon cake. I had a fantastic time adventuring in Salisbury and was sorry to have to leave this afternoon.Moonraker wrote:I had the pleasure of Anita and Tony's company at home the other day and personally ribbed her about her position at the top of the charts.

Thanks very much, Courtenay! Sorry to have kept people waiting for a new picture to caption - I'll put the next one up tomorrow.
