Any more captions? The competition is still pretty tight and there's still time before I pick the winner (which won't be easy!) on Tuesday... :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

All right everyone, I think it's time to announce the winner...

I must say this has been an INCREDIBLY hard one to judge — there were so many captions that made me laugh and several that outright cracked me up. Thank you, everyone who joined in with the fun!

So, in third place, with this hilarious and slightly surreal observation on Uncle Quentin's culinary talents...
pete9012S wrote:Uncle Quentins Custard with Mustard gave Aunt Fanny a rather pleasant out of body experience!
In equal second place, two classic captions straight from the world of great movies and musicals — both of which fit this particular picture remarkably well...
Anita Bensoussane wrote:"Aargh, you cursed brat! Look what you've done! I'm melting! Melting..."
Rob Houghton wrote:"I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair..."
It was really difficult to pick between those two and this last one — if I could award three first places, I would. (Even though two would go to the same person!! :P ) But in the end I decided this one just edged in front for the simple yet brilliantly apt pun...

Congratulations, Anita! :D :D :D And many thanks, once again, to everyone who contributed their witty and thoroughly enjoyable ideas.

Okay, let's see what people can come up with for this American Famous Five illustration by Frank Aloise (thanks for the image, Rob - I copied it from one of your posts!)
