The children then shrieked in dismay,
And Anne told the shark: "Go away!"
She picked up a stick,
But the shark lunged at Dick
Who was lost to their sight in the spray.

But Dick was not dead, never fear!
With a very strong stroke he swam clear.

He churned up great waves,

With a very strong stroke he swam clear.
He churned up great waves,
The kind a surfer dude craves,
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

He churned up great waves,
The kind a surfer dude craves,
And he rode the shark all round the pier! :D

hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

One day, as they lay on the sand,
There marched by a great big brass band

One day, as they lay on the sand,
There marched by a great big brass band
It made them all jump
And their hearts start to thump,
Anne said "they should really be banned".
