When I was above myself, I was a curious pair.
My lower feet still trod the ground; my uppers trod the air.
I said I must come down a peg, I know not where I stand.
So, reaching up, I pulled my leg and took myself in hand.

Since the other members of the Seven had unanimously ousted him and elected Susie in his place, Peter had started his own new Secret Society with much more tractable and subservient members. But it somehow wasn't quite the same.

Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Ever since Enid Blyton had been appointed Governess, the young offenders have had to find the animals in their sentence.

By the end of the year, Donald Trump's cabinet had been reduced to just the bare minimum.

Francis had thought things couldn't get much worse but now Mother had told him to choose between pony pie, Spaniel fritters and Alsatian nuggets for dinner.

"Why are British politics so complicated?" thought the first-time voter. "In America they just have to choose between an elephant and a donkey."

Great captions everybody. You all gave me a great chuckle.
I'm going to make our birthday girl the winner for two reasons: A great caption, and also including the word 'tractable' in it too - no easy feat!!

Over to you Courtenay - now older and wiser since this last caption began.

Ooh wow — I wasn't expecting that, especially as there were plenty of very worthy and hilarious captions in this round! :D Thanks, Pete.

Well, older, yes, but I can't guarantee the other... I'll have a look for a new picture and hopefully post it tomorrow.

Although the wait for the town's only lavatory was rather long, the children found ways to pass the time..
