Cheers Eddie.

Thanks to Nigel for introducing me to this story I find appealing every year around this time.

We watch it too, but no matter how many times I see it, I find it quite hard to grasp! :|

Great audio, Pete! A great listen. :D
I liked watching the 1976 TV version of the story, starring Denholm Elliott. It used to be on every year during the Xmas hols, but I've not sure it's been screened for a few years now. :D

It can be found on youtube.
Recommended it to pupils occasionally, but sadly, classic ghost stories had to give way to more action and less plot.

Totally agree, Dick! The majority of modern films are all action, with huge explosions, car chases & murders, etc, with very little plot...& very little acting ability required, as well!!

We have the DVD of the BBC adaptation, and we have all watched it every Christmas for many, many years. Thanks for the audio link, Pete, I will listen to it beneath the duvet nearer to Christmas!

Where did you get the DVD from Nigel?

By the way, anyone looking for another nice ghost story for Christmas, try The Shepherd by F. Forsyth. It is on Youtube as an audio version. Broadcast on the Canadian radio year after year.
