You should get royalties for what the seller buys, Rob, but you won't when he sells that copy on.

As I'm only on Amazon and the book is described as 'brand new' I can only presume that its Amazon selling it without my knowledge...although the seller is 'I got to have that' - Barry Wilkinson...! ! :?

It also states 'there are eight available' from this seller...and yet looking at my Amazon records (where I can see sales numbers) I haven't sold eight copies on top of those I know I've already sold! Mysterious!
I have recently bought something from this seller and when it arrived it came straight from Amazon in one of their usual packets and inside was a note from Amazon saying that this is a present from Tony Summerfield! In my case the item was considerably cheaper than the Amazon price, which is why I bought it from the ebay seller. I assumed that it was Amazon all along but they didn't want to admit the huge reduction in price.

I have just checked the item, it was a DVD and Barry Wilkinson is now selling it for £4 more than Amazon, but he has 8 for sale.

Intriguing! Yes - I wondered whether the seller was Amazon...except that the 'home address' made me think it couldn't be. I think I've bought an EB collection (maybe Christmas Tales' last year) from this seller, and presumed it was Amazon.

Just a short post to say that I read The Mysterious Boy in one sitting last night and enjoyed it immensely. I found Chapter One very nice and Blytonian and then when Edwin appeared in Chapter Two I was gripped instantly. He is definitely the standout character of the book and I had a lump in my throat at times reading about him. The writing is really excellent, shades of the Secret Seven in the story's brevity and fast moving style and a little echo of Tom's Midnight Garden in there too. Julie packs a lot of information and imagery into very few words; a trick that Enid also used very well.

I remained gripped until the end which I thought very appropriate and well handled though Victoria's decision was a big surprise. A wonderful debut from Julie and I do hope there will be many more. As others have saidf the only slight criticism is that it wasn't long enough although we adults are not, of course, the intended audience.

Well done Julie. :D :D

It definitely begs for a sequel!

Gosh, thank you, John. Sounds like you enjoyed reading the book. I'm so pleased.

One or two people have said to me they had a lump in their throat with my main character of Edwin.

I'm not sure I could do a sequel to this particular book, Nigel, as it is a stand alone book, but one should never say never. I always have idea in my head as you know.

The publisher got in touch with me today, and are sending me out some bookmarks. I hadn't realized (being a first time author) that I can ask for some things and I will get them. It's only since I joined an authors forum that I now know what to ask for, and in which directions are the best ones to take. :)

Cheers again John for the review. I'll pop it onto the authors forum. :)

I went into Wadebridge Bookshop today and signed the copies they have on their shelves of my book. It was almost a surreal moment after years of wanting my stories to be read by all. :)
