I should like to see your interview with Cornwall Today, Julie, when it comes out. I assume it will be available online?

I would imagine so, John. Cornwall Today, is a monthly glossy magazine we get down here and it's based in Truro, nice office overlooking the river.

Thank you Courney and Nigel, as least an interview with a magazine won't be as nerve racking as being Live on Air as was my BBC Radio Cornwall interview was. :)

I would imagine that sounds about right, Tony, these editors are busy people and have to plan months in advance.

They probably couldn't make up their mind if it was good enough! :D
Well, they'd already paid me, so it was up to them! :P

I've just noticed that someone is selling a copy of my book on Abe Books and the price is £9.75. I thought this was quite bazaar, as it's a new book and you can buy it new at the original price for £5.99. :|

Could it be a signed copy?

I don't think so, Pete. I've not signed many yet.

My book is available on eBay - for £8.99 which is nearly £2 more expensive than Amazon! As I'm only on Amazon and the book is described as 'brand new' I can only presume that its Amazon selling it without my knowledge...although the seller is 'I got to have that' - Barry Wilkinson...! ! :?

It also states 'there are eight available' from this seller...and yet looking at my Amazon records (where I can see sales numbers) I haven't sold eight copies on top of those I know I've already sold! Mysterious!

Maybe he's bought one and is selling it, and if it sells he'll buy more and sell them for a profit, Rob.

I don't think so...unless its someone I know! As you know, we can track all our sales on Amazon (well, maybe you can't, as you didn't publish with Amazon - but I can). I can see graphs and time-lines of when sales took place and how many were sold. I know from that exactly how many have bought copies, plus a couple I bought myself, so there are no books unaccounted for as far as I can tell...which makes it all the more mysterious!

No I can't see my own sales, Rob, as everything is done for me by the publishers etc. Hope it isn't another M.E. Rosson, for you!!

We'll have to get Fatty and Co. onto this one.

Both sellers are known as reseller. They don't have the physical items in their "warehouse". They create the listing in many online markets. When someone buys The Mysterious Boy from their online store, they just order the book through Amazon on that buyer's behalf and send the book to the buyer's address. That is why the books(both Julie's and Rob's) are described as brand new. They get the marginal profit by doing this. All they have to do is to list the books on their online stores. The buyers who don't shop around to find the best price will usually fall into their traps. Easy money.

Sounds logical.

I wondered if the ebay seller could be an undercover affiliate of amazon in some way?
They certainly seem to have an extremely large amount of new books for sale - tons of Blytons - even a set of Welsh ones!

Yes, I wondered that. Well, I wrote to them to ask if I will get royalties. If not, they should take it down! :|
