Maybe Rowling wished to show she was a "grown-up" authoress, but so many F and C words make it unpalatable for me. I won't bother with any more of her adult books.
I totally agree. Books and films using these words too much really is a turn off as far as I'm concerned.

I also totally agree.

I agree too. I find the use of bad language a really off-putting feature these days. I fear also, that it normalises such language as seems evident by some of the posts that can be seen on social media.

It also means that when you shut your finger in the door, there is nothing bad enough to shout out now!

Funnily enough (or not in my case) I was up a ladder this morning trimming back some branches off a tree at the bottom of the garden when I trapped my finger between a branch and a rung of the ladder. As my next door neighbour was hanging out some washing at the time my response was a strained Ouch. I descended the ladder, went into my shed and directed some very un-Blytonesque language at my push bike.

And I hope your push bike has forgiven you for the totally undeserved abuse.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

My finger has stopped throbbing, Eddie, but the nail is turning black so I assume I shall be losing it soon.
