I enjoyed this book “The Life of Will Scott”. He was certainly prolific, with plays being shown in the West End and his output of short stories and cartoons. The books for children came later.

His imagination, coupled with his awareness of the potential of ordinary situations and ‘commonplace’ things were the basis of his story writing. I can see that when reading a Cherrys book. He weaves a good story from places and events we can all relate to.

The book also mentions that Scott’s work is discussed on websites, and in particular the Enid Blyton Society website. Nice to see that!

I'll keep an eye on those, thanks Lenoir.

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

There is a Cherrys, book in our local charity book shop for £9.95, complete with dust jacket. As I'm not a lover of the Cherry's I didn't know whether to get it or not, so I didn't bother!

Our prolific Cherry's fan, Aurélien, hasn't been online for about ten days. I hope all is well with our old friend.

I received an email from our old friend Aurélien yesterday and so can confirm that all is well with him, Nigel. :D

I was thinking about Aurélien the other day, as there's a nice juicy question waiting on the Find-Outers Quiz thread and a map of Peterswood (in the form of Robert Houghton's board game) to enjoy!

I hope I didn't offend Aurélien or put him off the forums with my nasty comment about his repeated advice on responding promptly to quizzes. :( I enjoy his contributions (and am always glad to see a fellow Antipodean on the forums). I hope he'll be back soon.

If you think you've offended him, why don't you just PM him and ask?

If he replies you have offended him, then you have a bit of creeping to do!

It's all right, Julie - it wouldn't be the first time in my life I've had to do that.
