Thanks, Fiona.
A few years ago I tried to request "Fourwinds Island" by Vega Stewart (at the time it was offered at AbeBooks, eBay and amazon for over 70 £) through ILL, but they couldn't get it for me.
Another British children's book by Elinor Lyon was found through the Library of Congress in Washington, D. C.. So sometimes it's worth trying to request a book.

Hi Chrissie. for some reason I can't quote you - but no, the Bob Mullan book doesn't go into detail about teh Famous Five - in fact most of what he says has been said by Sheila Ray etc. :-)
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Rob, I checked his book on EB out in amazon dot co dot uk where the reviews praise the many photos it contains. Alone for that reason it's worth getting it for me, so I put it in my amazon list.

Why not just write amazon.co.uk (or Amazon UK)? It won't turn into a link unless it has the www. on it — and there's no ban here on linking to commercial websites anyway (unlike some forums). :)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Haha! I thought exactly the same, but was far too polite to mention it.

Nigel, I did that out of consideration for/to Tony, because I was not sure if it would be o.k. to just write amazon.co.uk, on the other hand: other forumites mention eBay all the time, so I guess it's fine.
Besides, I never know when it pops up with a page from amazon (because it does that sometimes in e-mails which I send to German friends). Maybe it's a Mozilla Firefox thing...
