The Famous Five on Facebook

The Facebook - Famous Five account has a new administrator, and has had new life breathed into it. You may see a post from me about the use of lower-case fs in the title! I have "Liked" this Facebook account for a long time now, but little (up to now) has been posted.

However, I see that some photos of the 2009 Society Day have been uploaded. The new administrator is called Oscar, I am just a little curious as to who he is. There is a post in Spanish (?), I am wondering if it is our friend Oscar who attended a couple of EBS Days in the past. Tony and I have chatted about the merits of Facebook/Twitter and so on (we now have some 450 followers on Twitter), and have thought about a Society Facebook page. I am just wondering how this FF account has uploaded Society photos to its page.

Edit: I have removed the link as for some reason it directed back to the Society pages.

I'm afraid I can't answer the above, but sounds like you have a good idea who it is.

Is it an idea to set up a Facebook page for the Society then? I have 'liked' a few sites dedicated to Enid Blyton but would be fab to see a Society Facebook page and have all the photos of EBS days in one central location like Facebook.

Sounds like it could be Oscar Spain, from what you say, Nigel. He did attend the 2009 E.B. Day, I think :? Or was it 2010, time flies by so quickly and one loses track!

I'm not a member of facebook, but know many who are!

I agree it sounds like "our" Oscar Spain. He was Famous Five fanatic I seem to remember! ... and now having looked at Facebook and seen the pictures from the EB Day 2009, I know it is! I recognise his girl friend in some of the pics.. and I introduced him to Imogen.

In just over 3 weeks, we have in excess of 100 people following the Society on Facebook. Not anywhere near the 29,748 followers of Enid Mary Blyton on Facebook, but we will get there! We also have 477 followers on Twitter, so the Society is doing pretty well in the cyberworld!

I must link to these on Facebook and Twitter.

Facebook pages seem to work very well, and I could add the latest "Tweets" to my Squidoo lens on Enid as well.

Ok. I know this is a strange request but I need to ask. And in the name of Blyton and truthfulness please no silly comments.

Who is Fatty on Facebook?

There are (may be more!) two Facebook pages concerning our fat friend. Fatty Frederick Algernon Trotteville and The Frederick Algernon Trotteville Appreciation Society. As to who runs them, I have no idea. Anyone here involved in either?

I must admitt I assumed it was a forumite because all those on facebook got added first before others started to filter in.

I would just like to know who Fiona and I are talking to on the Julianity page.

It is rather queer that I can "Like" Fatty Algernon Trotteville as myself, but when I view the page as The Enid Blyton Society, there is no "Like" button to click on!
