I agree — I guess because it was a "new edition" it didn't go to World of Rare Books as an older copy probably would have, and then whoever went looking for the stock photo just didn't have a clue about the different editions. Sounds like World of (Non-Rare) Books wasn't expecting a serious collector to buy from their side of the business and had no idea why it mattered to you! But as you say, it's fine if the book is an ordinary modern one, not a collector's item, and you just want a reading copy, which I guess is all that seller is expecting buyers to want.

I guess £9.99 isn't too bad for a very incomplete tea set (as we've seen from other instances, it should have several cups and saucers as well), but... a) anyone who knows what Art Deco is can see this isn't Art Deco, and b) anyone who knows their Blyton collectables would know that Noddy wasn't invented until the late 1940s and therefore this tea set could hardly be 1920s/'30s!!!

I think the seller is being a tad ambitious with that starting price!!

In these listings you always hope they've just got the decimal point in the wrong place... but sadly many of them seem to think that they've priced things appropriately.

I bought one of these badges for well under a fiver on eBay not too long ago, so even £9.90 could be seen as steep.

Also, is it just me or is lines and lines of "Ts & Cs" in various colours of capital letters really off putting in a listing?

My Enid Blyton Magazine Badge was actually the cheapest of the EB badges I have (And I have them all - Sunbeams, Busy Bees, Magazine badge and Famous Five). My EBM badge only cost me £1.25 last year.

Yes. But it would be even worse if they were in brighter colours and in Comic Sans font (which I was half expecting).

Sometimes you can tell if they've put the decimal point in the wrong place and not realised, a book that is 999.00 when the exact same copy is listed directly below at 9.99 for instance, but some are too exact to be mistakes.

Those multicoloured Ts & Cs are hard on the eyes, made even worse being all capitals . Maybe it's done on purpose to put people off reading them, in the same way 'the small print' you're supposed to read before signing something is too small to see .

It's doodled all over both in and out in ink, torn, missing pages, the spine appears to be held on with insulation tape and is in short an unholy mess, yet someone thinks it's acceptable to sell!!

Dunno... that daring and brilliant example of modern art all over the covers has to be worth something.

Wow! I've thrown better books than that away because I didn't think even a charity shop would want them!

I've never sold anything on eBay, but I'm guessing perhaps "acceptable" is the lowest choice available to describe an item's condition? I'd assume no-one would want to buy anything in "poor" or "terrible" condition (let alone terms not suitable for posting on an Enid Blyton forum ) — even if it IS a more accurate description.

I've certainly seen items described as 'acceptable' that are way better condition than that! Also things listed as 'poor' that are actually quite acceptable!!
