Hello,
I'm hoping someone can give me a little help with working out if this story is the one I'm thinking of. I've looked in the cave and found synopsis (synopsi?) for lots of other stories but not this one!

*WARNING - POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

Does the lady throw her slippers in the bin?
And then the bin can walk?

Also I know it can be found in Tales after supper (if it is the story i'm thinking of!) but is it in any other books too?

I have Tales After Supper, and in 'The Determined Dustbin' an old lady (Mrs Snoodle) does indeed throw her old shoes (not slippers) into the bin. They have a walking spell in them, because Mrs Snoodle is 'half a brownie' and so the dustbin can walk.

According to the Cave the story was later used in the 2002 Award book 'The Wonderful Torch and Other Stories' and this was reissued in 2014 by Bounty.
