RIP Emma Chambers

Post by Eddie Muir »

I’m saddened to hear that Emma Chambers, who played Alice Tinker in The Vicar of Dibley, has died at the age of 53. She was extremely funny playing Alice. RIP Emma Chambers.

I just heard about this too — the BBC's report includes my favourite ever clip of her from The Vicar of Dibley (one that instantly replays in my head every time I see a certain substitute for butter)... Very, very sad news. RIP Emma Chambers.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I really liked her in the many roles she played over the years, but I absolutely loved her as Alice Tinker in the Vicar of Dibley! So sad to see her go at such a young age..53. R.I.P. Emma Chambers.

RIP Emma Chambers. A brilliant actress, especially as the dotty but likeable Alice Tinker in The Vicar of Dibley. My favourite one of the roles she played in film was in 'Notting Hill', as Hugh Grant's sister. Sad to hear that she's gone at such a young age.

I can't say I've seen her in anything, but I certainly recognize what she looked like. A very beautiful lady taken at a very young age.

It was really very sad news. Taken too young with many years ahead of her. It's such a pity
