It does to me too, Nigel — I just chose that one because I liked the picture of the Christmas tree. I always say "and a Happy New Year" too.Moonraker wrote:I have noticed that many cards now say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (see Courtenay's illustration above), leaving out the indefinite article. That seems awkward to me.

Merry Christmas to everyone - and I hope it will be a happy time too!
I have had the lurgy this week (that is detail enough!) and this evening I read The Enchanted Wood. All of it.
I haven't read a Blyton for a few years and this wasn't one that I knew of as a child... but it was delicious and just my level at the moment.
Best wishes to one and all
Viv

Greetings to you too, Viv. There's nothing like a Blyton book as a comfort read when you're feeling under the weather. I hope you'll soon feel better. Read The Magic Faraway Tree next - that'll put you right!

Good to hear from you again, Viv — hope you're feeling much better now. More Blyton should definitely do the trick! Have a very happy Christmas as well.

Hi Viv - hope you feel better real soon.
Really glad you enjoyed The Enchanted Wood. I read my first ever Blyton when I was off school sick aged 5.
All the very best to you Viv.
Best Wishes
Pete

Sorry - I somehow missed seeing a few posts before and didn't realise Viv had been in! Hope you're starting to feel better now, Viv. An Enid Blyton book can be a real tonic when you're unwell.
