Iain Lee was in my class at school.
So that's all the more reason not to watch it!

I think Nigel watches?

Re: No I'm a Sleb thread?
I've proudly NEVER watched it. Never watched Big Brother either. These type of 'reality' programmes are so far from reality that they are totally ridiculous. Even the adverts on TV make me sick!
So no - nothing interests me less than so-called celebs (washed up has-been's) trying to 'entertain' on 'reality' TV. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Perhaps Yak can turn you around if you're sitting on the fence about these types of entertainment shows Rob?

We all have our favourite things, I guess. I'm sure not many people here would love watching old Hollywood musicals from the 1930's and 1940's, as I do!

Don't worry about it. Reality television shows are just a flash in the pan. They are shortly to be replaced by static television shows like "Watching Paint Dry" and "Watching Grass Grow". The beauty of them is that can last all day every day. They'll be cheap to produce, as they won't require any actors, celebrities, or technicians (except perhaps a part-time one to turn the camera on). Rumour has it that one of the digital channels is about to launch a cement opera called "Boredom sets in .... Concrete).

Re: No I'm a Sleb thread?
Dave. I gave up watching Sleb (what a wonderful contraction of the title!) some years ago. If I recognise one person involved, that's about the maximum and I gave up enjoying watching the consumption of revolting titbits ages ago. Finally, there's usually something else I would rather watch on TV at that time it is broadcast.

Er, I think you've hit the nail firmly on the head, Rob! Totally agree with every word! I've never watched any reality TV programme, either.Rob Houghton wrote:I've proudly NEVER watched it. Might be a tad too exciting!

Re: No I'm a Sleb thread?
I've been watching I'm a Celeb! I hardly recognised anyone in it at all this year, but I think that it's the trials and Ant and Dec's humour that make it worth watching, in my opinion! It's the only reality TV that I watch, I've got absolutely no interest whatsoever in the likes of The Only Way is Essex etc

Re: No I'm a Sleb thread?
I don't watch I'm a Sleb either, but Dave's evocative suggestions for new shows just reminded me of when the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, called Love Never Dies, opened in the theatres a few years ago. It was a bit of a flop and one critic in Australia was unkind enough to suggest renaming it Paint Never Dries.Domino wrote:Don't worry about it. Reality television shows are just a flash in the pan. It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: No I'm a Sleb thread?
I remember it was a bit of a flop and not a critical success - although I have a friend who saw it in London and thought it was amazing!

Stephen - that's interesting about Iain Lee .. didn't you like him
Well honestly, here I was seeing 13 replies and getting all excited and all but one of them are trashing the programme . It's actually the only reality show I do watch and I only started watching last year, but I find it oddly compelling.
