R.I.P Adam 'Batman' West
So sad to hear that Adam West has passed away aged 88! He was another of my childhood heroes & will always be the best Batman to me! R.I.P.

R.I.P. Adam West.
The mid-1960s 'Batman' was the first American TV series which I saw , at primary school, and I used to tune in regularly and thought it hilarious. The 'over the top' nature of the 'goodies' and 'baddies' alike was part of the attraction, and Adam's tongue-in-cheek portrayal of Batman and 'throwaway' lines added to the attraction. Ditto the memorable fight scenes with the captions of 'Pow', 'Splat' etc, and the incompetence of the Gotham City authorities who always had to call Batman in to help with crime!
I was interested to see Adam also pop up as a guest star on 'The Big Bang Theory' a few years ago, as a surprise guest at his fan Sheldon's birthday party.

RIP.
I didn't ever watch Adam West as Batman, but I've heard of him and seen clips.
How does Batman's mother call him in when dinner is ready?
Dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, Batman!

Groan, yes... I've heard that one before. I never exactly watched the show either, but it was certainly replayed a lot on telly when I was little in the 1980s and we were all familiar with the "da-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-BAT-MAAAAAN!!" theme.
In return, here's a version of it that always cracks me up, with some rather unusual canine over-dubbing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxYf1TpxXfU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And yes, RIP Adam West.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
