My Nan bought my first mint choc chip ice cream on holiday in Butlins Pwllheli in the 1970's.I chose it because it was her favourite.
I didn't like it at all.I think I was too young to appreciate the intricacies of this exotic flavour combination.I pretended to my Nan though that I loved it and was really enjoying it.

Our tastes must change as I love that flavour now and my wife and I often buy and really enjoy the mint choc chip flavour Vienetta - 0r Wall's Vendetta as my Nan,God bless her used to call it!!!

I like it too... the contrast between the crunchy chocolate and the curly creamy stuff.

But does it come in coffee (or tea) flavour??

Strawberry and caramel - though I haven't had the latter.

I'm just off to have some Kelly's Cornish Vanilla (with clotted cream) myself. 8)

It was. I did consider buying Sainsbury's own brand Cornish ice cream, which is cheaper, but it has a significantly lower clotted cream content...

Slightly away from ice cream - but still a challenge,we're really enjoying channel 4's new show:

Tried And Tasted Channel 4 Tuesday 8pm
What happens when you strip food of the branding and just rely on taste?
“Colour of packaging, feel of the packet or carton: all of this has an influence on how we respond to a product and is thought out by branding gurus,” says Barry Smith, Professor of Philosophy at London University, an expert on the senses and a panellist on Radio 4’s food show The Kitchen Cabinet.

He describes a famous test involving those two giants of the soft drinks market, Pepsi and Coke. “When they taste blind, people prefer Pepsi, but when they see the cans, they say they prefer Coca-Cola,” says Prof Smith. “That’s because they prefer the Coca-Cola brand. There were neuroimaging versions of this test showing that we get pleasure from the brand, activating our pleasure centres. These influence how we perceive the taste and flavour.”

Hmmm, bit like the tests I've heard of that suggest that painkillers in branded packaging are "more effective" than painkillers in plain packaging — even when the pills in both packages are placebos!

We found this verdict interesting,as we both like apple pie:
Blind taste test sees Aunt Bessie's FROZEN apple pie declared just as good as M&S' best-selling fresh version by Michelin chefs and food critics (and it's half the price)

I love mint chocolate chip ice cream! The Vienetta one is delicious (Vienetta was one of those luxury 'special occasion' puddings when I was little as it was so expensive! I still feel posh when eating it  )
