We were out browsing baby things today and I found the cutest Noddy set in Mothercare!

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I'm so excited for you, Fiona! 8)
Must have missed the moment when you've disclosed that it's a boy. I believe in the World of Blyton Blog you still didn't tell/know a few weeks ago.

Barney? Brian? Ben? I give up :D .

I added it to my "A New Blyton Fan" thread a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't said it on the blog as we found out the week after we announced.

And good idea, there are a lot of B names out there!

Joking aside - I bet there are a few babies born recently who've been named that!!

My word, you are organised! My poor son was 'baby' for a couple of days after he was born.

It was quite accidental actually! Shortly after we got the news we said "oh we'll have to think of boys' names. Then we discussed how we don't like any superhero names and I jokingly suggested naming him after a character from our favourite film. I wasn't being serious at all until Ewan said he actually quite liked it. Once I thought about it (and looked it up to discover it's also a Scottish name) I realised I did like it too, and it's rather stuck. We did say we'd come up with some other ideas, but we haven't (yet) and have started calling him by that name when we talk about him so we've become rather attached to it. Of course when he's born he might not look like he suits that name at all - and then he'll be nameless just like your son, Katharine!
