That is soooooooooooooo cute - I'm tempted to go and buy it just in case I ever have Grandchildren.

Has anyone suggested Blyton for the baby's name?

I think Blyton cropped up on the last page somewhere. I'm cracking up at some of the suggestions. Brigadoon and Balmoral .

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. I love that part, especially in the film where just puts the tiniest bit of emphasis on Brian as if to say "have you got a problem with that normal name in the middle of my very wizarding name?"

Well nobody guessed the name!

Brodie was born on Sunday, at 4.56am. He weighed 8lb 11 (and a half!), and he's very tall and skinny at 53cm.

He surprised us by arriving with a head full of incredibly fair hair (though both Ewan and I had very fair hair as babies.)

We think he's absolutely wonderful but it has also been very very hard so far, we've only been home from the hospital since Tuesday night and it was a big adjustment.

I had planned to get him into his Noddy outfit to share the news but just haven't managed yet. Soon though - it will have to be soon as i think it only goes up to 10lb so I don't want him outgrowing it before he's had any wear!

Oh and he is named after Chief Brody from Jaws... but the ie is the Scottish way of spelling it and there's a castle called Brodie near to Inverness.

Anyway he has fallen asleep after his feed so I'm going to try to ever so carefully ease him into his Moses basket and get a little sleep.

Congratulations to you all, Fiona! Fab news. I think Brodie is a great name. I wouldn't have guessed it, though! Young un's are lovely, but hard work. Get some rest, cos you'll need all your energy in the coming weeks! :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Congratulations, Fiona and Ewan. :D Brodie is a great name! The lack of sleep is hard to cope with at first, but all the hard work is well worth it!

Congratulations. Hope you manage to pop him into his Noddy outfit soon - never too early to introduce him to Enid Blyton.

Good luck with the sleep (or lack of). It doesn't last forever. :D
