Here's mine: 1967...

I really enjoyed this article from a year or two ago about the historic Christmas covers of The Radio Times since 1923.
Do you have any favourites?
It just wouldn't be Christmas without it! Radio Times releases nostalgic collection of the listing magazine's favourite festive covers of the last 90 years

For 90 years, the Radio Times has been producing its bumper edition of radio and TV listings for the festive period
Now the magazine has released a nostalgic collection of its most iconic Christmas edition covers since 1923
Among those gracing the cover are festive scenes, Morecambe and Wise and Harry Potter as well as Santa Claus

I like the Christmas covers of the Radio Times, from 1971 (The Two Ronnies), 1973 (The Two Ronnies & Morecambe & Wise) and 1985 (Only Fools & Horses), a nice reminder, of when sitcoms, were worth watching.

I like the 1988 cover which has pantomime characters painted in delicate, softly glowing colours. Artistic and not too brash.

One of my favourite covers is this one -

Its a clever design, because it looks like a Christmas tree as well as a village on a hill! :-D
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Mine is a lovely Eastenders photo... but I suppose that was the year that Angie asked Den for a divorce, which has gone down in history for some reason.

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

I used to watch EastEnders regularly in 1986, aged sixteen, and I thought of Pauline Fowler (played by Wendy Richard, whom I'd seen previously in Are You Being Served?) as just a typical middle-aged mum. Seeing that photo now, she strikes me as reasonably young. It's funny how perspectives alter!

Most interesting; thanks, Pete. Loads of Santas and snowmen, nativity scenes conspicuous by their absence.
