Re: Football
Very disappointed Chile lost against Germany even though they deserved to win but I was happy they did their best and played so well...

I think that Chile did exceptionally well, Maria Esther! With a bit more luck they could've won it.

Re: Football
Indeed they did! The goal was a big mistake from Diaz and a piece of luck for the Germans. But overall, I loved the way the Chileans played.. It shows they are an amazing team.

Re: Football
Well, the new football season is upon us and Forest take on Millwall at home tonight, Number 6 and the Owls take on Preston away tomorrow, John. Good luck to both teams. Let's hope it's three points each.
Brighton and West Brom start their season on Saturday, 12th August. The Seagulls have Manchester City at home and the Baggies take on Bournemouth at the Hawthorns.
Here's to a successful season for all our teams!

I echo your sentiments, Eddie. I will be interested to see how Brighton fare in the Premier League.
I'm sure that the Owls and Nottingham Forest will be in contention for promotion. Third time lucky for the Owls.

I'll be following the progress of both the Owls and Forest with great interest this season, John.
I'm hoping that both Brighton and West Brom have a successful season in the Premietship.

Re: Football
John & Eddie, I wish your teams the very best of luck for the coming season. Let's hope we all have something to cheer about come next May!
Forest have started the season off with a narrow, unconvincing win against Millwall this evening. The Lions should have at least got a draw. I seriously hope the Reds sort out their little niggles early on. We don't want a repeat of last season! I'm also still a bit miffed about the lack of good, quality signings during the pre-season. I was hoping for a few more really solid Championship players to come through the door, but thats not materialised.

Thanks, Number 6.
Great start for Forest. Let's hope they continue their winning ways.

Good to see Forest at the top of the Championship table this morning, Number 6.

Re: Football
It certainly is, Eddie! Can we finish the season now? League champions after one game! That'll do me! Good luck to the Seagulls, Baggies & the Owls in their respective games this weekend.

Only just realised that the Premier league doesn't kick off till this coming Saturday! Eddie, I see the Seagulls have got Man City at home! What a great game to start the campaign!

A great game indeed, but a very difficult one, Number 6.

Re: Football
To be honest, I think they'll all be difficult games, Eddie! The Seagulls need to consolidate their Premier League status this season, get some cash behind them for stopping in the league, then kick on from there.

Re: Football
I agree entirely, Number 6. Unless they get some cash behind them, the Seagulls are going to find it difficult to remain in the Premiership. Three different newspapers over the weekend forecast their final position for the coming season to be: 19th, 19th and 18th. Rather depressing!
