Courtus, I'd like to include you, in the book club I'm setting up with Ming and Moonus.

I do hope Ming and Aurelien are OK at the moment as New Zealand's South Island has just been struck by an earthquake and a tsunami. :? :(

Fortunately, Aurélien lives on New Zealand's North Isand and so I'm sure that he and Ming are OK.

According to the BBC two people were killed in the earthquake. Thanks Eddie, it's good to know that Ming and Aurélien are (hopefully) out of harm's way.

It's sad to think of people being caught up in this. I hope Ming and Aurélien and any other members in New Zealand are okay - and their loved ones.

I'm alright, folks, and am planning to catch up with Ming tomorrow morning in central Auckland. She seems to have ended her stay in our South Island at just the right time.

No doubt Ming has one of those smartphone devices which can also take snapshots.

Earthquakes are one of the dangers we have to live with here in Kiwiland. The Southern Alps, which form the backbone of the South Island, are where two tectonic plates meet, and the faultlines continue northwards into the North Island. We also have volcanic activity......
