....and Izzy and I can echo that (not the football bit) - they are two special people. Sorry to make you blush Eddie!John Pickup wrote:I can also vouch that Eddie and his lovely wife are two of the kindest, politest persons that Erika and I have met. Thank you for the e-mails recommending various music CD's he knows I am interested in. We may be at odds though if Sheffield Wednesday meet Brighton in the forthcoming play offs.

I am indeed blushing, Francis, but I really appreciate your very kind words. Chick and I look forward to seeing you and Izzy at the next EBS gathering, especially as Izzy wasn't able to make the meeting at Beaconsfield.

She is looking forward to the day - as you said she missed the Beaconsfield trip as she was on a mystery day trip that ended up....at Bourne End and the Spade Oak for lunch!

I remember you telling us about Izzy's mystery day trip, Francis. Amazing that she ended up going to Bourne End.

Re: Golden Wedding Anniversary - the Muirs
Chick and I have just been looking through our Golden Wedding cards and messages and have decided to put them all in a special album. It was such a lovely occasion for us and we were extremely lucky to receive so many presents and good wishes, including many from the super friends we've made on this great website. The thought occurred to us while sorting through everything that we may not have thanked everyone individually for all the kind and thoughtful gifts and cards sent to us. So I'm reopening this thread temporarily to say this to everyone for the kindness shown to us on our special day:
A VERY BIG THANK YOU!

Excellent idea Eddie.

That's nice, Eddie. You could get one with Golden Anniversary printed in gold on the front too.
A nice keep sake to look back through.

Thank you, John and Julie. I like the suggestion of an album with Golden Wedding printed in gold on the front.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
