With so many rabbits this year we may not have a problem of long weeds hiding the puffins.

Happy puffin watching.

You are right, Sue! That must be the reason. 8)

Another gorgeous, sunny day on Burhou. I just watched a puffin coming from the left end of my computer screen and disappearing in one of the burrows. He had some small fish under his beek.

Reminds me of lovely holidays in the Channel islands - they have been having a very hot summer this year. Wish I was there!

Francis, Herm had a hot May when we were there in 2014. We slept with the balcony doors open all night long and heard the sound of the waves.
On those 8 days that we've spent on Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Jersey we had great weather. I assume they have lovely springs and summers, because most of the time when I check the puffin cam in April, May and June, it's sunny. 8)
Wish we could go there again...

We spent 14 holidays in Jersey, Guernsey and Sark and there were so many hot and sunny days - the sunniest part of the British Isles.

We'll have to take our sun cream if it is sunny day as there is not much shelter there.

The 2 hours long path around the Isle of Herm has lots of trees and shade except one spot which resembles a moor (it has many pheasants at night).

I just checked the puffin cam and there are 3 puffins active right now, but no giant rabbits. Another sunny Burhou day.

It has been a very sunny summer in the south although Scotland has had very different weather.

Just imagine you've gone for a bird watching holiday with Bill, four children and a parrot and you will have lovely weather apart from one violent thunderstorm!

BTW what's the name of the islands in "Sea of Adventure"? Orkneys or Shetland? I keep mixing it up.
If it's not too far away, we might be able to include one of them to our Scotland trip.
Was EB ever to one of these islands herself? She described them in such a beautiful way.
