It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Many, many thanks for all your kind wishes. Last night, friends and family threw a surprise party for me and my wife, (she was 60 also yesterday, May 31st) and it was a super time. A local covers band played some Beatles, Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry and other great tracks, Eddie and Lucky Star would have enjoyed them immensely. I received plenty of book tokens as people don't know what books to buy because I have so many!
It's really kind of you all to take the time to make my birthday special, but I've known from my short time on here how warm and friendly our Blyton community is.

It sounds great, John. I'm sure that both John (Lucky Star) and I would have loved it. Happy birthday to your wife too. :D
