Re: What Are You Doing Now?
What I'm doing right now is finishing off Chapter 13 of a new story about highway men, treasure, fighter planes, secret passages and enemy spies, lol. Just another normal day really!!!

That sounds rather an action packed book, Rob.

Is it a new Adventure series continuation, Rob?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I've just finished sorting out the drawers in my desk, which I've not sorted out for ages.
Right at the bottom in the bottom drawer, I found some photos that Eddie had sent to me, of our visit to The Cave. I was lost once again looking at the books in The Cave, with Tony amongst them.

Highwaymen and Fighter Planes??? Fly and Deliver.
It does sound very action packed indeed. Speaking of action packed I have been reading The Victor annual from 1978 which I picked up in a charity shop for £2. I had it back when it was new and as always it amazes me how I am rocketed back to the age of 10 every time I turn a page.

I'm alternating between doing cross stitch, checking emails, starting a Sudoku and finishing a cup of tea while listening to Classic FM. It's my day off and I'm multi-tasking.

I'm helping my son create a costume for something he's in at school.
I love that feeling. I used to like watching my daughter read my old annuals and enjoy them just as much as I had at the same age.Lucky Star wrote:I have been reading The Victor annual from 1978 which I picked up in a charity shop for £2. Only on the EB Society forums could we so easily slip between fighter planes and cross stitch!!Courtenay wrote:I'm alternating between doing cross stitch, checking emails, starting a Sudoku and finishing a cup of tea while listening to Classic FM. It's my day off and I'm multi-tasking.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
My father has a framed cross stitch of a plane. Not sure what sort, might be a Lancaster bomber - I'll have to check next time I'm there. I think my sister did it for him as a present. So it is possible to combine cross stitch and fighter planes.Rob Houghton wrote:Only on the EB Society forums could we so easily slip between fighter planes and cross stitch!!

Never done that myself — I usually do lovely detailed pictures of landscapes and so on — but there's an incredible range of kits and designs out there these days, so I'm not surprised. I have to be careful every time I walk into Hobbycraft, or anywhere else that sells such things, in case I'm tempted to buy yet another cross stitch kit to add to my backlog!

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
My grandad had at least one cross-stitched picture of a plane. Not sure what type but I think it was red!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
What i'm doing right now is bumping up bids on eBay for a few books I was interested in. I keep being outbid, so I've been bidding up to £20 just so the other bidder has to pay more, lol! I know - I'm very bad - but hey - my limit is £20 and if that means a seller gets a better deal, I feel its justified! I certainly don't think any of the books in question (all with dust jackets) are worth paying more than £20 for.
It really annoys me when people bid a day or even a few hours before the bid ends. Serves bidders right if they do this and their £1.99 bid ends up being £25.
It seems some bidders don't do much of a search. I humped the price of 'The Hidey Hole' with a wrapper up to £4.99 (the same as The Hidey Hole is being offered for as a 'buy it now' on the same site) and the bidder just shot the price up to £6.50 -- so I bought it for £4.99 from another seller instead, lol!

Wicked old Rob!
Seriously though, I often enjoy pushing up the price too, especially if some of the other bidders seem to be desperate!
