**SPOILER WARNING for The Boy Next Door**
What an ending. Kit's father mistaken for a kidnapper. It happens.
Kit hiding in a house boat which the kidnappers had prepared for him.
Nice one!

I've never read The Boy Next Door In Eastbourne...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Yes, I did hear about that. Absolutely sickening and shocking. My prayers are with the victims and their families — the world does seem to be going more and more mad at present.

A friend of mine (a young man from my musical theatre society) is in university in Barcelona at the school of theatre arts - but happily he's home for the holidays just now. The world is indeed going mad.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
What I'm doing now is wondering who bought 'The Play's The Thing' for just £9.99 on eBay! I'm hoping it was someone on here...but whoever it was got a massive bargain. I was very tempted to buy it myself, as I could have resold it for around £40, but thought I'd give someone else a chance to own it!

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I'm wondering at what age/stage of my life I officially became 'old'.
Is it the realisation that two of my children are adults, and as of the end of the year, neither of them will even be teenagers? Somehow I felt that passing them off as teenagers made them (and me) seem younger.
Is it the fact that many of my school friends are grandparents?
Or maybe it was yesterday, when one of my eldest daughter's school friends got married? A lovely day, but boy does it make me feel old to see the blushing bride - a radiant young woman - who I remember as a cute 5 year old.
At least I have my Enid Blyton books to keep me forever young (well in my mind anyway).

I haven't heard anyone singing the praises of BT internet yet - sounds like they are indeed useless!

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with your BT emails, Julie. I hope you soon get things sorted out.
Chick and I have spent a lovely afternoon in Marlow. We also stopped in Bourne End and drove down to see Old Thatch, but the hedge surrounding it is so overgrown that it is difficult to see see much of the house. What we could see looks as if it needs some attention. Very sad.

Does anyone know what happened to the previous owners - did they ever sell it? Sounds like it needs some attention.Eddie Muir wrote:the hedge surrounding it is so overgrown that it is difficult to see see much of the house. What we could see looks as if it needs some attention. Very sad.
