Just playing catch up around various sites and writing a few notes down about my time away which was just carefree fun for six days apart from getting sent to turn into a blocked off road junction in Coseley thanks to the SatNav!

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
The thought of moving house fills me with dread - not that I plan on doing so - but with all my books - about 400 Blytons and then another 500 others, plus my 300+ DVD's - and that's just for starters, I'd need about six removal vans!!

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I filled more than 30 large bags-for-life with my books when I moved. Thankfully they all fitted in my dad's estate car (just). It was a whole journey just for books though.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

I'm not planning on moving either but I know I'll have to eventually and I've got so much stuff crammed into a two-bedroom flat that it's past a joke.
Every spare bit of space is stuffed up with something or other; doors are held open with wedges to keep the stuff behind them secure , cupboards barely shut, underneath both double beds is crammed without an inch of space, I'm going to need about 100 boxes!
And that's before I've even thought about tackling my shed - that's also rammed from floor to roof, with tons of stuff that I don't want in my flat but don't necessarily want to throw away!
And everything in there is probably alive with spiders by now so the thought of disturbing all that lot gives me the creeps!

I'm afraid Rob's lost me too! If I want to buy something, I simply bid for it. I have no idea why I shouldn't put in a bid a day - or even hours - before the bid ends.Julie2owlsdene wrote:I'm afraid I'm totally lost on that one, Rob. Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Neither do I...you've both lost me, to be honest! I just bid for something I want - and if it goes too high I let the other bidder win. Simple really!
To answer the comment from Nigel 'I don't see why I shouldn't put a bid in a day or even hours before the bid ends' - I agree - but its always best to wait until nearer the end of the auction - that way the price isn't bumped up so high.

I can't believe it Rob, I understand it's moving house is a tiresome job but I just think it's soo very exciting. Because I have moved house more than 5 times since I was small, I feel it's part of me now. I am a kind of person that finds it hard to settle in a certain place...

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Currently feeling a bit fed up, as I've had to refund £10 to a buyer on eBay who has opened a case against me, saying she never received my book (The Land of Far-Beyond Dean edition). Trouble with eBay is, you have no way of knowing if this is true unless you send things by registered post etc, which bumps the postage prices up. I just have to hope she's honest, and hasn't received the book as well as my refund.
