Lots of type-faces, especially cursive ones, have letters that could be slightly ambiguous. If the seller had opened the book I'm sure the text inside would have been a more standard font and would have clearly said 'Kirren'.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Not quite sure what to make of this listing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ENID-BLYTON-1 ... 500wt_1287" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It'a bit odd, isn't it. The title should be the Magic Faraway Tree, which was first printed in 1943, but you'd think the seller would point this out, rather than list it without the 'magic'! I'm not sure that I would want it. It looks very tatty. A picture of the signature would have helped too.

There are photos of some inside pages, including the signature. However, the seller seems to be claiming that the writing on the front cover is also Enid Blyton's writing (and signature), when surely it isn't! Like you, Daisy, I wouldn't want the book. It looks really unappealing with all the drawing, writing, mottling and scruffy cover.

I imagine a child owner (Janet or someone else) probably wrote the title and signature on the cover, because the printed title and signature had worn off.
