Water!!! :D that's what I like best. But apart from that,

- Juices, especially orange juice. Natural ones though.

- Gazpacho Andaluz, best thing ever in a very hot day.

- Chicha Morada, refreshing, tasty drink made from purple corn (can't remember what's the name of it)

I think those are my favourite ones, oh, and a cup of hot chocolate!!! :D

Tea for a hot drink, juice for a cold drink. I like apple juice or orange juice or sometimes a mixture of flavours, but my favourite is actually pineapple juice. 8)

I've written enough about my tea tastes on the infamous tea thread, so won't bring it into here as well!!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I'm afraid I have never been an alcohol drinker.

I have also given up caffeine, and seriously cut down on sugar.

So when I go to a restaurant, I usually just ask for water. And since water is free, that also saves me money.

Like you I mostly drink water. Never coffee.
Hot chocolate still is my favorite, but i realized that I am allergic to milk, so I don't have hot chocolate as often any longer.
Gazpacho, the cold soup, is delicious. I ordered it several times at some Argentinian steakhouse way back in Germany.
We make our own juice with a juicer. It's called Purple Power, made of red grapes, blueberries, a bit of ginger and Delicious apples.

I only like Hot Chocolate for a hot drink. For cold, I like most fizzy drinks but I can't drink them as they make me ill, so the only thing I really drink is water or milk for the odd change. It's strange as I never liked plain water, I thought it was awful and tasteless, but when I realised things like Coke/Lilt/Lemonade was to blame for my crippling pains, I forced myself to try putting up with water and after about three days I started to crave it. Now it's the first thing I reach for, and at this time of year I'll boil it up and drink it hot.

The only other things I drink are either milkshake or in the summer, my own home made non fizzy lemonade or a ginger beer they sell here which is also not gassy but at £1.50 for a very small bottle, that's an occaisional summer day indulgence.

I don't touch anything alcoholic, it has never interested me in the slightest (along with any of man's other usual vices, I credit EB with keeping me on the straight and narrow! :P ), I've often wondered if there's something wrong with me as on the very odd occasions someone had offered me some, I quite honestly thought it was the most disgusting tasting and smelling stuff and wondered how anyone could possibly drink it!

I've never had a problem with the tea thread, I find it really interesting to read about everyone's preferences for food and drink. (probably because I'm a gannet and obsessed with eating and drinking!)

We've got a General Natter section so why shouldn't we chatter about these things, that's what the General Natter section is for.

The tea thread is tame and pleasant in comparison to some of the other ridiculous GN threads that we've had in the past!

I like talking about everyday things, I think it makes us all closer because we can bond over normal human interests like food, drink, animals, shopping, hobbies, etc.
And we can help each other with advice and info about things!
It doesn't detract from our love of Enid, we still post about her too! Its not 'one or the other', we can talk about both!

If we've got something to say about Enid then we'll say it regardless of whether there's a GN section or not. Same goes for if we don't happen to have anything to say about Enid at a specific time - if we don't, we don't - not having a GN section wouldn't make any difference; the lack of GN wouldn't make us post more about Enid if we simply didn't have anything to say!

I whole-heartedly agree with you, Carlotta!
Nothing wrong with GN.
