I'm just an old fashioned girl with an old fashioned mind
Not sophisticated, I'm the sweet and simple kind
I want an old fashioned house, with an old fashioned fence

Thanks folks.
Sorry for being tardy about the reply, but I was away... NOT on a Hike, I hasten to add. It sure is the time when Ju, George, Anne, Timmy and myself embarked on such trips, but once is enough, so it was a car trip to the area of Coburg, Germany. Yes, that is where the Prince of Saxe-Coburg came from...
The food was truly Blytonian, except for the obvious fact that it was German. But large, filling meals and modest bills, EB would sure have agreed. Oh, and a few old towns and spooky castles can be found there as well.

Cheers

A belated Happy Birthday, Dick. Good to see you back on the forums (after 8 months away!), Dick. Great to hear that you've had a great time away.

Thanks Francis. Yes, he did. He gave me a rain jacket for a present. A new one, not one that he'd grown out of like he did when we were a tad younger.
'You might need it when we go hiking,' he said.

I can see he is still suspicious that you weren't really the 'Dirty Dick' that Maggie knew.

Well, I knew Maggie. Met her the same time Julian did. And true, a rain jacket protects you of the one kind of showers which does not mean you are allowed to give the other kind of showers a miss - as Ju happily pointed out.
