It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Being into amateur musical theatre as I am, that reminds me of a great line from 'Me and My Girl'. Sally comes back just as her one-time flame is about to leave, and points to two suit cases, placed next to the Duchess and her daughter and asks "What are those two bags doing?"

To which he replies, "Oh them - they live 'ere!"

Great picture of two fantastic people. :D

Like others I have made some very valuable friendships through these forums. My only regret at the moment is that we do not seem to manage many gatherings in person these days. Like Nigel I really miss the annual excitement of the old EBS Day. Sadly I doubt it can ever come back. But I still love to come on here each day and see what everyone is up to and what they are nattering about.

I agree - I miss the 'Days' and now I know everyone so much better on the forums, I wouldn't be so shy at talking with people as I used to be! I always found the Days a little overwhelming, although good fun, and full of things to buy, but I feel I know everyone much better now than I did back then! :-D With both my mom and a good friend both dying in 2009, and adjusting to the changes this brought to everyone, I missed the last few Enid Blyton Days, much to my regret. :-(
