I for one am fine Bannerman 65. Did I read in one thread you were from Sheffield? so how long have you been in Australia? Just as a matter of interest my pedigree dog Morgan is a Yorkshire dog. We travelled up to Sheffield to buy him from a breeder who lives there

Yes, I'm from Sheffield. And a Yorkshireman to boot.
I've been out here, for 34 years, now.

Wow long time. Do you visit the UK much or do you miss anything about it?

I haven't been back, since emigrating to Australia. I do miss the friends I had, back then. I'll be lucky though, if they even remember me, much less have moved on.

In the book Owlsdene was full of baddies, and stolen diamonds. My house seems to be full of things my daughter can't store. At Christmas its the childrens toys, so they won't see them. At birthdays, its presents, so they won't see them. Now with the new baby on the way, Sarah is coming over with baby essentials. The latest is the mosses basket in a huge box. "You'll have to keep it here for me Mum." she says. "I've no room in my house."
Good job I've got three spare rooms. And no sign of Perton and Rooky. I said I'd buy her the travel system, but not yet. But I guess I may as well, as it will only be stored at my house anyway.

Our garage is choc-a-bloc with stuff from my son's flat in London. He didn't want to use much of the furniture, so it lives in our garage. He's now told me to dump it, as it would cost more to transport it back to London than to buy new stuff!
Incidentally, Bannerman, why did you emigrate to Australia?

You'll have to sell it Nigel. Or give it to the Salvation Army, they come and collect and give it to the needy.

Twisting this thread once again I'd just like to mention that I am off on holiday today to memphis in the USA. So I will be absent from these wonderful forums for about 10 days (Ok, own up, who said "Thank God" ). I shall speak to you all again next wednesday or thereabouts.

No one posted a Thank God message here, Lucky Star. Except for yourself.
Moonraker,
It was my parents who wanted to emigrate over here. They had thought, that they would be better off, over here. Unfortunately, my parents wouldn't allow their children, to stay behind with relatives.....

Lucky Star,
You haven't twisted this thread. The whole point to this thread, is for random, off topic conversations. If you wish to use it to let everyone know, that you won't be making any posts, while you're on holiday's, then do so.
Have a great holiday, Lucky Star. Will you be visiting Graceland?

Re: General Natter Room.
Just thought I'd mention that I was a Blytonion this afternoon. Two of the grand children were looking up longingly at the many apples on the tree in the back garden. So I got out the step ladder which I climbed very cautiously, (Don't tell hubby,as he wouldn't approve, with me having a weak knee due to constant injuries) and I picked as many of the apples I could reach. The ones I couldn't reach, I brought out the long handled brush and started to knock them off the tree. The kids loved watching them fall and picked them up putting them into a bag, which I had to carry home for them. Good job they only live five doors away.
