Funnily enough, this always worries me a bit too! Especially having heard of spiders eggs on bananas or other foreign fruit. Sometimes I've received parcels from abroad and always been a bit wary!

I'm not very fond of spiders myself, and If I saw a biggish one in the house or in my room I'd probably make my parents throw it out. But there's nothing like fear of scorn to make me get over the fear of spiders. I was at the rafting camp and my cousin who was also there is dead scared of all insects. So we were in our tent and there was this biggish spider near her backpack, and she was freaking out and jumping around on her bed. The guys came in to this scene (and my friend yelling at them from the bathroom to get out because she wanted to change her clothes after her shower. ), and as I was nearest to the spider, they were telling me to get it out. If I was at home I would've freaked, but I was not in any way gonna face the scornful 'just like a girl' faces or remarks from the guys, so I had no choice but to laugh and throw it out using a cloth. And that pretty much ended my fear.

Well done, Sunskriti. I usually leave it to my dad to catch huntsman spiders and put them out of the house — at least the really, really big ones — but if I'm at home on my own and there's a big one, I just steel myself and do it.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I don't think I could do it to the big, hairy ones, but medium ones are ok.

I've been eating bananas all my life and have never seen any spider eggs in the ends, don't worry. Not even in Australia.

I like daddy long legs but I hate those spiders that can 'run' and are medium size or the simply enormous ones.
Two years ago when I went to Peru, we met this man that kept these two *nice, cute* tarantulas as pets. And his daughter who was just 3, she wasn't a bit scared of them but told us her pets were quite shy. I literally nearly screamed the whole restaurant down when I saw them and he even asked us if we wanted to hold them!!
This was one of my worst experiences with spiders...

   Sorry to laugh, but man, that's funny.

That reminded me of the time when we were walking on the street in Sri Lanka, and this guy with a basket stops us, my mom is very near the basket, and says, "Cobra Dance, cobra dance!" in a very excited fashion. Geez, I've never seen mom run faster! (She's dead scared of snakes. And almost stepping on one in the balcony of our house in Bangalore could not have helped with that. Luckily the snake seemed almost more scared that her!

To be ultra pedantic, craneflies (DL-Ls) aren't spiders, but are insects. :D

Nothing like that here but we do have 'False Widow' spiders in the garden.
