It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

It's got a jolly good theme song, though.

Very true that Fiona, there is always somebody worse off than yourself that's makes your woes and issues seem trivial when they say theirs. I really pity the poor person at the very end of that reply though who can't find someone worse off than them!Fiona1986 wrote:Ahh there's always someone worse off to make you feel better about your own life
To be honest, I do really love my work and am very fortunate to do what I do, I have no reason whatsoever to be sad about it, it's just always the same after a break of any sort. I find it difficult to get back into the swing of things, especially in January after the Christmas and New Year break, which makes the slog back into reality hit even harder. I did enjoy it once I got stuck in again (I always do!), though I was definitely a bit slower than usual, probably because I spent half the time having a good old post Christmas catchup - good job I'm the boss .

Oh there'll be someone who's lived in a shoe-box on t'side of motorway, and then someone who lived in half a shoe box... and someone who lived in a paperbag
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

You're very magical too!Moonraker wrote:How do you feel about Moonraker?Carlotta King wrote:I love anything to do with the moon and find it really beautiful, so to me, someone called Moon-Face should have something magical and literally moon-like about him (because I think Moon-Face is a magical-sounding name!)
I was also going to say you're silvery and mysterious but I don't think you were silvery last time I saw you

Oh very - a suave well-spoken man of mystery... until something bit him while we were standing outside the pub - then he was hopping about and protesting!
