Re: General Natter Room
Now I'm even more confused...a Famous Five type book that's a Famous Five adventure type story but isn't a novel?!

I'll warm me with your echoes

Zoe doesn't say that it is an adventure book, Robert. Which is why I thought it was an information book.number 6 wrote:I recently posted a comment regarding a F5 novel that Zoe (George@Kirrin) was going to write. After contacting Zoe again to confirm this, She has told me that it's a F5 type book that she's writing, NOT a novel. I wish her well in her quest &, hopefully, she'll get it printed in the near future! I look forward to reading it. Sorry for going off-topic.

number 6 wrote:Oh! I never thought to ask, Julie! Knowing Zoe, though, I'm sure it'll be a proper F5 type adventure!
No - but number 6 suggests it is...Julie2owlsdene wrote:Zoe doesn't say that it is an adventure book, Robert. Which is why I thought it was an information book.
Oh well - whatever it is, I wish her well!

Hopefully, Zoe will come on here and let us know exactly what it is she is working on.

I'll try & get Zoe to post an answer. I was just trying to say that knowing Zoe, she'll turn her book into an adventure story based loosely on the F5. I can't see her writing a book about an informative guide to the F5 or something similar!

Received an e-mail from Zoe (George@Kirrin) this morning. She's delighted that her proposed F5 type book has caused a bit of interest on this thread. She said she'll be popping on to the forums in the next two weeks to discuss her "Two Trees" project!

Meanwhile, apropos of nothing, here's a news article that cracked me up just now — the RSPCA were called to a house in Coventry for a rescue that was, well, not what it seemed...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Don't underestimate the danger of socks, Courtenay, especially mine after a day of walking on the hills! The smell would knock you out from 100 paces!

I must say, that one they found under the bed does look like it's starting to mutate into a new life form...number 6 wrote:Don't underestimate the danger of socks, Courtenay, especially mine after a day of walking on the hills! The smell would knock you out from 100 paces!

Re: General Natter Room
In the Waterloo Station branch of Foyles the other day I had just been admiring the good selection of Enid Blyton titles when a couple came in wanting to buy a book for a young relative aged ten (I couldn't help overhearing!) There were shelves of authors to choose from but I was secretly willing them to pick an Enid Blyton so I was pleased when they eventually chose Five Go to Smuggler's Top! The man looked at the original date of publication and remarked that he and the book were about the same age!
