Happy Birthday, Julie!
Many happy returns, Julie. Have a smashing day and enjoy opening your presents. What will you receive, I wonder? Perhaps a pair of rubber-soled boots, a moth-eaten coat, a shawl, voluminous petticoats, assorted hats and scarves, wigs in various colours and a set of grease-paints. Perfect for practising disguises in your shed, while you await your next mystery!

Let's hope you get lots of money from rich relatives, then you can take us all down to the little Dairy in the village next May, and treat us all to macaroons, ice creams and ginger beer. Have a good day, old thing.

Re: Happy Birthday, Julie!
Thank you ever so much, Anita, Laura and Nigel. Can't use the shed now, Anita, it fell down
Off soon down to St. Ives for a walk on the beach and a cream tea in the Hotel, and Morgan can have a run on the beach as a treat too.
They say great minds think alike! Well, it's also my Wedding Anniversary today also, and instead of buying the usual card for Stephen with Husband on etc, I read one that just says on Our Anniversary , and the words just suited us perfect, so I bought this for Stephen. He opened it and with a twinkling eye, and grinned. I then opened his anniversary card to me, and would you believe it, we had actually bought each other the same card.
I wonder if Fatty and Bets have that problem

Re: Happy Birthday, Julie!
Julie, I do hope you have a really good one. I won't be forgetting the date of your Birthday in a hurry from now on, as it has poignant memories for me too! Not only is it the 40th Anniversary of Enid's death, but it is also the date that my mother died a year ago today. Coincidentally, Marjorie L. Davies, who illustrated the final cover for Enid Blyton's Magazine, also died a year ago today, aged 101.

Re: Happy Birthday, Julie!
Thank you so much, Ming, Daisy and Tony. Sorry to hear it is a year today since your Mother passed away, Tony.
I never forget the date Enid died, as she died on my 16th birthday.
We had a lovely day on Carbis Bay beach. Morgan had a good run, then we went for a long walk along the cliff tops, where my own Father's ashes are scattered. Then we went into the Carbis Bay Hotel and had a lovely cream tea. Fattening I know, but who cares

Rather late as well I'm afraid but it sounds like you had a great day and I wish you many, many more of them Julie.
