Clair de Lune by Debussy — a classic, but it never gets old. The perfect thing to listen to just before I'm about to settle in bed for an early night... ahhhhhh.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

We're in the same territory, Courtenay, Chopin's unbelievably beautiful Piano Concerto No 1 2nd movement - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTUyz3iSnTc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - astonishingly composed when he was just 20
"Its a magic wood!" said Fanny suddenly.

She was born in 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio. From 1957 to 1961, she was in a gospel group, The Cogic Singers. She began recording as a solo artist in 1964.
This song later became a great favourite in the Northern Soul Clubs in the UK. A cover of the song by Soft Cell was a UK No: 1 in 1981.

Gosh - I'd always thought Tainted Love was a Soft Cell original! It's amazing what one learns on this website!

Brilliant song, Courtenay! ELO are one of my favourite bands, fabulous-sounding and full of energy. I've just listened to Sweet-Talkin' Woman:

Re: Last Song You Listened To
Recently, I've been listening to some albums I loved in the 1970s-80s - Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, Eat to the Beat by Blondie, Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf, and others.
One cassette I used to play quite a lot around 1989-90 was Pure Soft Metal:

I've just listened to two songs from it:
'Carry On My Wayward Son' by Kansas
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzfUlCrjb8g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and
'Over the Hills and Far Away' by Gary Moore

He was born Delectus (sometimes rendered as Delecta) Clark in Blytheville, Arkansas, in 1938. In 1952, he was a member of the Hambone Kids. The following year, he joined the Goldentones (who later became the Kool Gents). He launched his solo career in 1957 and had a string of US hits 1958-1963. One of these, 'Just Keep It Up', was a UK No: 26 in 1959. He had a UK No: 16 hit in 1975 with 'Ride a Wild Horse'. In 1987, he suffered a stroke which left him partially paralysed, but he continued performing until he died from a heart attack in 1990.
