It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

If you spent your day in a well, can you say your day was well-spent?
If a wild pig kills you, does it mean you’ve been boared to death?
I saw an offer in a shop
“TV for £4.50 – the volume is stuck on maximum"
It was an offer I simply couldn’t turn down.
37 consonants, 25 vowels, a question mark, and a comma went to court. They will be sentenced next Friday.

I got drunk yesterday and ate some scrabble tiles because it seemed fun. Now that I'm sober, I fear my next bathroom visit could spell disaster.

What's the difference between a hippo and a zippo?
One is really heavy, and the other is a little lighter.

Re: Jokes
This is from a while back, but I have to agree. I grew up with really well-illustrated comic books in the 70's and 80's and the artistry today is absolutely banal across the board. Can't tell whether nobody has any talent left or if they think they have talent and they're at the top of their game... Either way, it isn't great! I hate seeing these new books and the "dimsey" FF cartoons that are representative of the new talents in the field today. Hard stuff!Darrell71 wrote:I cringe every time I see those illustrations. You know I always crib about never getting any old editions, but honestly, I bought most of my EB books before 2012, and the new covers were still sensible back then. THIS is horrible.
