Re: Jokes
Not a joke, but a recent conversation I thought was amusing.
I was helping with a group of 4/5 year olds, and a couple of them had been making various items out of pastel coloured pipe cleaners. I admired their work, and said how pretty they were, adding that my favourite colour was the pink one. One of the children told me I couldn't like pink, because I was a grownup. According to the child, grownups have to like black or possibly red.
That told me!

Re: Jokes
A good one, Katharine. My five-year-old niece said boys could not have pimples because only girls do. When I asked why, she just repeated, "because only girls have pimples! That's why." Most children are like that.

Re: Jokes
Yeah, I noticed that detail when I took a look at the new upcoming titles in the "adult" series... sure, it'd be a laugh in the out-takes of a Famous Five TV series (never work with children or animals etc.!), but if that's the most amusing thing they can think of to put on the cover, it does suggest something about the quality of the story...pete9012S wrote: Honestly!

I like it. (A new title, maybe... "Five Sell Anne into Slavery"??)pete9012S wrote:

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
