Re: Jokes
A man walks into a pub and sits down next to a man with a dog at his feet.
"Does your dog bite?"
"No."
A few minutes later the dog takes a huge chunk out of his leg.
"I thought you said your dog didn't bite!" the man says indignantly.
"That's not my dog."

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Even side on it's clear that these books have nothing to do with genuine Enid Blyton's - she would have been delighted.

Crumbs - I hadn't heard about Five Escape Brexit Island! When is Bruno Vincent going to stop writing these things, I wonder?!
And yes, it's sad to see Enid Blyton's name at the top of the spine.

Re: Jokes
The "Strong and Sta(b)le" banner is funny, at least... something tells me the cover artist may actually be better at humour than Bruno Vincent himself. Unfortunately I suspect he won't stop churning them out until they stop selling, and I doubt they'll stop selling for as long as they're seen as clever and amusing. But the novelty's got to wear off some time, I'm sure. I certainly haven't been seeing them in quite so many shops as I did last year and earlier this year, or if they are on display, they're much less prominent than before. I think the first wave of people who bought them may be realising they're actually not very good and not worth re-reading. Well, we can hope...

Is that meant to be me in the flattering blue dress?? (Mind you, I've been here long enough to have experienced all kinds of British weather — including snow — so the caption doesn't quite fit.)
