I used to work alongside someone who was like you. In fact, people used to put the switches down just to annoy her!

Something that makes me annoyed - getting targeted on Facebook with adverts for hair replacement treatment, implants, cream to grow my hair back or other stupid 'remedies' as if going bald is an illness. It's not like I'm even completely bald - can still grow a full head of hair, although receding quite badly up the middle. I choose to shave it all off - and I dislike the fact that guys who do this are targeted as if we have some dreadful disease we should be ashamed of. :x

Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Any adverts on Face book annoy me. I don't particularly want to see them. I pressed the box not to see adverts and Facebook asked me why!!!!

The adverts are bad enough - but the 'recommended for you' type posts I get are even worse. Now I'm nearly 46 I'm getting recommendations for opticians, hearing aids, bald remedies, and hair implants, and best of all incontinence pads!!

Most of Facebook's adverts are targeted - meaning you see the type of things you have been talking about or searching for . I use an ad-blocker so I don't see anything except the sponsored posts in my newsfeed which are generally relevant to me, but they get annoying when they show me the same two or three products (some of which I already own!) day after day.

At the moment I repeatedly see a mug with a quote from the Disney Hercules film and books I already own from an author I like.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

I use an ad-blocker too, as I feel quite violated when people know what I've been searching for. Also, I hate YouTube adverts
Abi.

Still trialling other writers, but will eventually go back to reading a bit of Blyton! Just too many books...

Occasionally will pop in! xx

I like long posts personally - most of them - such as Anita's, are very interesting, and informative. Short posts are fine too.

I'm also well-aware that my Enid Blyton Magazine posts are a bit long for some people to bother reading, but on the other hand many people enjoy them - all a matter of taste I guess. :-D

I don't mind long posts as long as they're readable and not just a mass of silly annoying stuff like we've had on here previously.

I also admit I find them much more appealing and easy to read if they're separated into chunks, rather than one mile-long post of solid text with no gaps in! By a gap I mean like what I've done above - pressed return twice to make an empty line. Huge great reams of gap-less text just makes my head hurt and I can't concentrate on it properly!

I enjoy reading them as I'm interested in the subject. I must admit to not reading long posts on certain subjects, such as people droning on about Enid being a racist.

I agree - I tend to avoid some long posts like that. Nigel's short post didn't go into detail, so presumably he dislikes any posts over two lines long!! ;-)
