Still trialling other writers, but will eventually go back to reading a bit of Blyton! Just too many books...

Occasionally will pop in! xx

Nobody is blaming anyone Abi. It's just that it seems strange that people take the trouble to register and then never post anything. After all anyone can read what's on the forum wthout registering so why bother if that's all you want to do?

I think there should be a warning when people join, warning that it can become quite addictive here.

Katherine,
I must have spent hours reading several forums and keep clicking the new posts link to see what's happening, it's more addictive than Angry birds.

Lying awake one night after reading the Valley of Adventure for the umpteenth time I thought I'd search online to see if anyone else had the same obsession with this wonderful book.
I stumbled across the society, forums and to my delight, a readathon on the adventure series
.

Hi DazP,

"Valley" is my favorite Blyton book as well. It's a real masterpiece.
Since I joined in April, I'm still spending some time every day reading the 35+ pages of the Adventure Readathon. I finally reached page 28.
Event though my personal favorites (Valley, Castle, Sea, Circus) are not the favorites of most EBS members, I nevertheless enjoy reading all the different points of view and analysis.
Hope to see more of your posts...

Valley, Castle and Sea are my personal favourites too, along with River, though not Circus. I agree that it's interesting to read different points of view and to see which parts have stuck in people's minds, or which bits raise questions for them.

Hi Anita,

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves Valley, Castle & Sea :)!
Just finished the last page of the long Adventure series readathon and will now explore "Looking for Fatty & co in Peterswood/Bourne End" which used to have many many pages (out of my memory I would guess it had at least 40 or 50 pages way back in 2008...my husband printed all of them out for me :)), but unfortunately has shrunk to only 6 pages since then.

The thread hasn't been shortened so don't worry - all the posts are still there. It's probable that one page on the forums will take up several pages when printed out.

Somebody (who is hopefully reading this) has just tried to register on the forums with the username 'enid blyton'. I sent them an email to say that I wouldn't accept it and could they email me back with a new username. The email address they used doesn't exist and it came straight back to me. Please don't waste my time by using false email addresses when you are registering!

I should perhaps add in case children or parents are worried, that by putting your email address you are not making it public as I am the only person who can actually see it.

I only hope that we don't get someone registering to send private
emails to some of our younger members - horrible thought.

You can actually alter your profile so that you don't receive PMs or Emails from anyone other than an admin. Looking on the bright side however, we have never had any complaints about children getting unsavoury messages and I know that they do like to be able to PM each other! If there is ever any problem I hope that they would let me know immediately.

I am sure they would tell you Tony - you're very approachable. I guess
I am worrying too much.
