Even though it's a capital idea??
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

I went into the Tintin shop, in Bruges. It was quite wonderful (my son, Matthew loves Tintin), but very, very expensive.

It's Yorkshire dialect, Minty!

Owt means anything and nowt means nothing.

So, it means You don't get anything for nothing!, in other words, there's no such thing as a free lunch!

From Nigel's son Matthew's MySpace page:
Love the Beatles as should everyone. Anyone who say's they're not the best band in the World is merely seeking attention and should be ignored.
I think I would get on very well with Matthew, Nigel. ;)

Matthew Roberts and Matthew Rowe -- both chatting away to their hearts' content! :D

It's really great to find someone who mirrors your tastes.

I'm sure you would, Matt! Both Simon and Matthew's song-writing and desire to be musicians comes from the inspiration of The Beatles. In my opinion, to say I love rock music but don't rate The Beatles, is akin to saying I am a devout Christian but don't rate God.

Well, I always rather liked the Wombles. Are you telling me the Beatles were even better?

The Beatles were good but as John Lennon once said, "before Elvis there was nothing".

*snort* Elvis didn't even write his own songs. I don't rate Elvis at all. Now, the Wombles, on the other hand -- there's no denying their influence.

I'm with you on this one, Matt. To me, Elvis was just a progression from the likes of Matt Munro, Andy Williams etc. (And I love Andy Williams!)

Did the Wombles write their own material? Of course, their biggest fan was Alice Tinker, from Dibley.
