I don't think you will be disappointed in the book as it is beautifully illustrated, much of it in colour. Marjorie Davis has a particular significance for me as she died on the same day as my mother, November 28th 2007. At 101 she was three years older than my mother. This is also the date of Enid Blyton's death in 1968 as well as being the date of Julie's birth!

Its a shame Julie wasn't born on that day in 1968 - or she might have been Enid Blyton reincarnated!!

Seriously, that does look like a lovely book — I might buy it myself and perhaps give a copy to my mum.

This November 28th date certainly is very interesting as it is also the date on Nov 28th 1969 my younger brother Mike was born too!

My copy of 'A Brush With Enid Blyton' arrived today - some lovely illustrations included - well worth buying! I'd actually forgotten I'd ordered it, so it was a nice surprise!!

I'd forgotten until I saw it in the book that I have also one of the greetings cards depicting Green Hedges which I bought from Bekonscot model village shop.

I really enjoyed this book.What a delightful lady Marjorie was.
Enid comes across as extremely businesslike,professional,helpful and friendly towards Marjorie as their working relationship developed.

I can recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Enid Blyton's work and her working relationship with her illustrators.

Marjorie's own life story (long as she lived to be over 100) is extremely pleasant to read about too.

I agree - eventually Enid seemed to develop a deep respect for Marjorie, but I felt that her early letters to her were indeed 'extremely businesslike' - if not almost rude and condescending! Enid obviously had a very high opinion of herself, which I can understand in one way, but I would expect Enid to show off a bit less!!
