A great afternoon!

Post by Carlotta King »

I have just spent a really nice afternoon as a new member enjoying reading the novels in the Secret Passage and looking at the photos of past EB days, just wanted to say how great it is to be a proper member now and what a fantastic site we have - all thanks to Tony! :D :D

There are so many benefits of being a member to the Society - as opposed to just being registered to the forums. As well as the benefits, there is the satisfaction of helping the Society to remain active and the excellent Journal to stay in production.

There's quite a few novels in the Society website, Carlotta. You must be a fast reader if you've read them all. :D

I often did into the E.B Day photos and relive some of those exciting and pleasurable days. :D

No I haven't read them all yet, hehe, that would indeed make me out to read at the speed of light! :D

I'm inspired me to get cracking with my own Barney writing again!

Absolutely, Nigel - I look forward to being a member and a part of everything with everyone :)

Carlotta - you may also want to visit enidblyton.net which has another range of fan-fics, including Julie's own Find Outers in Retirement series and my own series based on the Barney series and Adventure series. Would love to read your own Barney writing - where can I read this? My fan-fics are currently in reverse order in the fan-fic section - if you wish to read them, suggest you start with Return to Rubadub. Happy reading!

Yes, there are some good fan-fic stories to be read over there. However, it is sad that the site no longer gets updated, apart from the Message Board and T-A-B sections. Our webmaster is a very busy man, it would seem, these days - and has little time for hobbies!

My own Barney writing, The Rosewood Mystery, is posted on my Booksie site where I put my writing, http://www.booksie.com/Gypsy_Lady" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I put the first 11 chapters up there a couple of months back but didn't write any for a bit because I was a bit busy with work but I started it again last night so will add more shortly. Hope you like it :)

Glad you are enjoying the society's fan fiction stories, Carlotta. I have to say I have only read two full society stories. I am now reading Julie's latest novel in the greatest enjoyment at the moment.

Carlotta - I have just read the first two chapters of the Rosewood Mystery - they are excellent! You have really captured Enid's "Voice", which is difficult to do - it flows with the lightness and humour which her writing had. I am really looking forward to reading the rest and so glad you included Miss Pepper. I expect she was visiting the friend who lived near Cherrydale who helped to find the Martin family in the first place in Rubadub! Can't wait to get to Rosewood. Keep writing.

That means a lot that you are enjoying it, I love writing it and to hear that other people are liking it too makes it even better! :D
I'm really glad you think I've captured Enid's style!!

I'll get cracking with the rest! :D

I'm looking forward to reading yours when I sit down with my tea later.
