I'm glad its not being released yet - I don't need to buy another book till next year!!

As a youngster I used to love tales in which a child's behaviour led to an alarming and surreal experience that taught him/her a lesson, so I'm sure I'd have liked 'The Potato Boy' and 'The Wind's Game' very much if I'd come across them when I was a girl. Enid Blyton's stories widened my horizons and made me reflect on all kinds of issues.

Although the other three books are called Jolly Tales (and seem to be three editions of more-or-less the same book), they aren't reprints of the Little Book Jolly Tales. It's simply a case of the title being reused, probably inadvertently.

I was just adding the last line of the contents of Jolly Good Food when I accidentally pressed 'control' rather than 'shift' and it deleted the lot and I had to start all over again!

I have also added the six most recent books to the adult Famous Five section, but I won't give a link as nobody will want to use it!

Thanks Tony! I'm having this book for Christmas from my sister - so obviously I'll be doing a lot of baking after Christmas!!

The thing I find interesting is that they have 'Pop Cakes' (which in my day were Pop Biscuits') Google Buns toffee - all from 'The Faraway Tree' but I'm presuming none of them behave as they do in the books! I'm sure I'd have been disappointed to make toffee that didn't keep getting bigger as I sucked it, or Pop Biscuits that didn't explode in my mouth etc!

I've got both cookery books but haven't made anything from them yet. I love the way Jolly Good Food has been divided into sections, with extracts from a variety of Enid Blyton books. It's an attractive volume and has photos of the finished items, which is always helpful. The Clementine Treacle Tart sounds scrummy!

Hard to believe those books are actually in the cave and The Enid Blyton Dossier isn't!

I don't have that book and I don't have all the stories elsewhere either, though I was fond of 'The Magic Pinny-Minny Flower' as a child. I like the sound of 'Mr. Oddmedodd'. What a great name for a character! I've read 'The Castle Without a Door' in Fireside Tales (Collins) and certain elements remind me strongly of The Enid Blyton Book of Brownies.

Looks like a lovely collection of stories with an extremely attractive cover!

But isn't the Cave all about books BY Enid Blyton - not ABOUT her?

So we had to hunt elsewhere! I must admit I hadn't thought of looking under "Author of Adventure"!
I have just finished reading the Dossier again... it really is a lovely book.

In my view The Dossier should be featured on the first main page of this website, suggesting it as the perfect book to buy as an introduction to Enid Blyton's life and work. It introduced me to so many things I didn't know when I bought it in 1999 and it actually linked me up with the Enid Blyton Society thanks to the address and details to be found inside!

There should be a link to copies on eBay so that newcomers can purchase it. In my view its the best introduction to Enid Blyton that anyone can have.

Terry's latest review is interesting, I don't have that particular book but I've read several of the stories in Fireside Tales or elsewhere.

It's good to see you are back Tony, I hope you're feeling better.

So relieved to find it is in the Cave, after all. I really thought it was there somewhere, but failed (as did Pete) to find it using the search facility.
