I always prefer to wait until I can read entire serials, yours included, Rob. :D

I must admit I've enjoyed reading the last two serials week by week - but I can also understand why people would rather read it as a book. :-D

There will be a 31 week wait for the next one!!!

Then I will print it out and read it, Daisy. 8)
Now I'm beginning to understand why so few people leave comments on this thread, lol!!
I will soon.

I know that as a writer of the serials, its always good to get feedback - whether weekly or at the end. I wasn't meaning to accuse you, Chrissie - I was just joking.

Mea culpa, Rob.
And no, I didn't feel accused at all. :D
I printed out your "Narrowboat" FF story and then Julie's "Rook's Rock Mystery" right after and still had no time to read them. That's why I didn't write any feedback yet, but I will. Promise.
Never thought that being retired could be that busy!

One more thought: when I give feedback afterwards (after the final chapter), at least I cannot give away too much of the plot in my feedback. What do you think?

I found that if I read the serial weekly I was forgetting the storyline and having to constantly re-read the previous week's episode. I'm another who will read the whole story when the serialisation is complete.

I guess that's true, although I enjoy discussing elements of the plots, and feel a bit restricted if I think people might read this thread before they read the actual story! However, I guess that's a risk forumites have to take if they prefer to wait until the end! :D

I wonder how many of us do actually read them as a serial? I think maybe only five or six of us!

Rob, just like John Pickup I'll have to re-read too much if I try to follow the serial on a weekly basis.
Also it interrupts the flow for me (when I read a book by EB, I try to finish it within one or two days, because I cannot put it down).
I'm looking forward to discuss the serials some more once I'll post my feedback. 8)

I usually read the Serials as such, but sometimes I have a wait in between when I'm away or if the Serial is of a Book/Series which I like less or not at all.

As I normaly don't have more to say than "Good chapter", I don't often comment as I wonder how much this brings. And sometimes I can with a bit of luck read but not write...

Its great that people enjoy the serials, whether weekly or as books at the end of the serialisation. i was just interested to hear how many wait until the chapters are all published before reading them. :-D

I am in the same category with Chrissie and John. I tend to forget some of the minor plot details if I read each chapter weekly.

It's certainly an eye-opener!

They don't know how spoilt they are, Rob, for most of Enid Blyton's serials you would have had to wait two weeks for the next chapter but on this website you only have to wait a week - just like you do if you are watching a serial on TV! :? I guess that none of these 'completeists' will go anywhere near your serial until early April next year! Their loss as it is a cracker!

I must admit, I can't imagine having to wait two weeks! :-D

I'm blushing now!

Anyway - I know a few people do read the serial each week. I admit I never used to read them very much at all, until Julies Secret Seven story. I've enjoyed her other Barney story and also daisy's SS story, and now I actually find myself looking forward to Monday morning, when I always read the serial. I guess I'll also be reading mine...although its always with a critical eye!
