Agree with everything you've said, Nigel. In fact I've posted similar across the way in the dreaded General Natter, so we've got our thoughts in both places, haha!

Well, I hold my hands up - I did it a lot while my serial was running! I have no shame, lol!
It's not shameful, Robert, I guess I should be more outgoing about my own writing, but aren't.

To be honest, neither am I! I have such a low opinion of my writing that I find it hard to even believe Tony when he accepts it for serialisation. I just tend to think my writing is 'better than nothing'. 8)

I am like Chrissie. I have saved them as html and converted them into epubs. They are all safe in one folder. Just waiting for me to read them. I also have saved stories in Yahoo group, Rumlington and all! :D

I don't know if it would be possible? Just a suggestion: as I keep having a hard time finding any EB book titles for which I search in the Cave of Books, maybe some computer wiz could add a feature to the Cave which would make new additions from Tony instantly watchable?
Maybe some button called "New Additions/Updates". You could click on it and get access.

Thank you, Chrissie! :-D Seriously, I don't think people believe how lacking in self-belief I am when it comes to my writing. The first thing I thought, when Tony asked if I was writing a serial was 'oh no - my writing isn't good enough!' Its always good to get positive feedback - even though most of the time I don't believe it and think people are just being kind!

Rob, believe me, people wouldn't read it if it wouldn't be good!
Everybody nowadays seems to suffer from a constant lack of time even though we have less work hours, have all these kitchen helpers/machines, can order online instead of driving to town etcetera.
I am convinced that EBS members wouldn't spend time reading (and afterwards spend time writing feedback) if it wasn't as rewarding as it is. 8)

Going back to the serial, and reading these last few postings, and you Robert, saying you lack in self-belief etc, I think that if no one comments, then the 'author' can assume that no one is liking their work, or even reading it. If I don't hear any comments, I too assume no one is reading or even liking the serial, but as pointed out, there are various reasons for no comments etc.

I guess this is just human nature, and one can feel 'insecure' about their writing without any comments.

Ok, for both Rob and Julie

I enjoy very much your Serials, I'm eagerly waiting for each Monday to read (though sometimes I don't have the time to read each Monday). I have also more "problems" reading Serials of Series I don't know (like the Secret Seven) so I don't read them.

Actually I did become a member FOR those Serials!!! I don't know if I had subscribed if the Serials didn't exist. So I really hope that you continue to write!

If you want a Series of which I would love to read a Serial about it would be the Adventure-Series as the are my favorite (next to the Famous Five, of which there are a lots to read in german) and I would love to read more about them!

Reading you comments made me think and I will try to write more often even if I don't know what I should say just to tell you how much I enjoy reading your Serials.

Thank you very much for taking the time and writing for us to enjoy!

I have been reading the posts on this thread with great interest. I just want to add that I think the serials written by Julie and Rob are superb and capture the Blyton atmosphere perfectly. :D

Hear, hear! Well said Nigel. I think you've covered everything that needs to be said. :D

I've just started to pick up on the serials by Julie & Rob, so now I've got something different to go at! :D
